What the extension does
The extension reads visible AI chat messages on supported websites when you click
Save or when auto-sync is enabled. It sends that text to your
Orchestra server (default: http://localhost:4317 on your
PC). It can search your Orchestra memory and insert recalled context into the chat
composer when you choose Recall or Insert into chat.
Orchestra is local-first. We do not operate a central cloud that stores your chats unless you explicitly configure a server URL you control (or a hosted Orchestra plan you subscribe to).
Data the extension processes
- Chat content — message text scraped from the page DOM when you save or auto-sync runs. Sent only to the Orchestra server URL in extension settings.
- Page URL and site label — included with ingest requests so memory is tagged by source (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude).
- Settings in chrome.storage.sync — Orchestra server URL, custom LLM site URL patterns you add, and auto-sync preference.
The extension does not include analytics SDKs, ads, or third-party trackers. It does not sell data.
Where data is stored
- On your Orchestra server — SQLite (Local) or your Postgres (Cloud plans). This is on your machine or infrastructure you choose.
-
In your browser — extension settings via
chrome.storage.sync(server URL, custom sites).
Chat content is not sent to Rondanini Publishing Ltd servers by default. Network calls go only to the Orchestra base URL you configure (typically localhost).
Permissions explained
- storage — save Orchestra server URL and your custom site list.
- activeTab — access the current tab when you use Save, Recall, or Memory.
- scripting — register content scripts for LLM sites you add in Options.
- localhost / 127.0.0.1 — connect to Orchestra running on your computer.
- Optional host access (https://*/*) — requested when you add custom LLM sites or use built-in matchers on HTTPS chat pages. Used only to read chat DOM and inject recall text into the composer.
Third parties
- AI websites (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) — you use those services under their own terms; the extension reads what is already displayed in your browser.
- Polar — license validation is handled by the Orchestra desktop app, not this extension.
Your choices
- Disable auto-sync in the extension popup.
- Change or remove the Orchestra server URL in extension Options.
- Uninstall the extension to stop all capture.
- Delete memory in the Orchestra desktop app or your database.
Children
Orchestra is a professional productivity tool, not directed at children under 13. Do not install for minors without parental consent.
